04-12-2009 Bionic Ghost Kids

Venue: Cafe Central, Weinheim (Germany)
By: Nina Mende

After the album I now had the chance to see them live: Bionic Ghost Kids.

There were three bands tonight, I only saw two of them. The opening act was a metal act who played for about 30 minutes.
Cafe Central was very crowded, the age was mixed but most of them wore some hardcore metal band shirts. Some that looked more electro or goth came for Bionic Ghost kids only and stayed for their performance only as well.

Originally founded as a duo in 2004 in Berlin they now enter the stage with two more people as a live band. Their music is a horrorstory, and so was their performance telling a story as well. It began with an intro that was explaining everbody how everthing happened and began, and then the guys entered the stage. By throwing confetti into the audience the drummer was welcoming the audience. The guys went off on stage big time. Their performance was fast and thriving. Energetic and powerful they got everybody going along. For several songs the singer stepped down to the audience and was dancing and performing there. All of the band members wore white masks. They played mostly new songs but also some old ones. Several kids in the audience could sing along to all of them. The light was flashing and the music sometimes reminded of techno. The show lasted for about an hour. It was a very interesting show and a lot of fun. Different from what you usually get to see.
