05-11-2007 Staubkind

Supports: Lacasa del Cid, Eminence of Darkness; Venue: The Cave, Frankfurt(Germany)
By: Nina Mende

Tonight I was at the Cave in Frankfurt to see Staubkind. But they were not the
only ones to play on this Monday night, there were also two other bands along.
First of the night and proudly announced by Louis (singer of Staubkind) was
Lacasa del Cid from Berlin, not a big difference to the Johnny Cash music that
the DJ played before the bands started. Lacasa del Cid made the small club even
smaller and more familiar with their music and gave us the feeling of being
in one of these late night pubs watching an acoustic set. I was fascinated by
Serena’s (a female singer) and Cid’s voices and totally taken away.
But unfortunately it was all over about half an hour later.

Up next for the night was Eminence of Darkness, also from Germany. Waverock
describes their style of music quite well. With a female vocalist/bass player/guitar
player (all in one), a guitar player (the bass player Juliane was taking over
his guitar for a song while he was just singing) and a keyboarder who also left
his keyboard for a song to sing only, this band did not only proof that they
are talented musicians but also rocked the audience that was quite big for a
  Monday night.

The last band for the night was Staubkind from Berlin. They sing in German
and their songs are all very touchy and go straight to your mind and heart.
Playing many songs of their new album “Zu Weit” they kept the audience’s
full attention for 1 ½ hours. The little club added a very familiar atmosphere
to it all, so that you did not feel like being at a concert and just watching
a band perform at all, more like being a part of this event. For one song Cid
from Lacasa del Cid was joining Louis singing, and for one of the encore songs
  Serena joined.
All three bands managed the technical difficulties very well and seemed to be
very close to their audience. It was an amazing evening and I hope they will
  all be back soon.
