Venue: Knitting Factory, Los Angeles (USA)

I was back at the Knitting Factory to see another band. Tonight I was here to see another European band, a Swedish one to be precise: Vains of Jenna was the one. Vains of Jenna are a Sleaze Rock band formed in Falkenberg, Sweden during January 2005. They have relocated to Los Angeles, California that year.
By the time Vains of Jenna began the Knitting Factory was very crowded. Many of the people were fans of the band and able to sing along to the songs. You could tell the band felt home here. Somehow their sleazy rock was typical for Swedish band and it reminded me a lot of young Hardcore Superstar or Backyard Babies. The songs were all very catchy and rocking. Everybody was cheering out loud, dancing and clapping along and simply having a good time. The guys played old and new songs, off all albums. They talked quite a bit with the audience. They played for about 40 minutes, but it seemed a lot longer. The four young Swedes were very passionate about their music. There were many girls up in the front row screaming for the band whereas the guys were rocking in the back of the audience room. There were strippers dancing on three poles in the middle of the venue, but not many people paid attention to them. Vains of Jenna rocked the Knitting Factory with their great music and great vocals. Too bad they are mostly in the US and not in Europe. But maybe someday Europe will get some more of these great Swedes. |
