Resonance Room is an Italian Gothic/Doom band. The band formed in 2003 and after two promo releases under the name of Fragment it is now time for a full length “Unspoken”.
The album opens with a song that is full of keys. A surprise came when the vocals came in because I expected a deeper voice. The second song is way more bombastic and let you en an interesting way of using vocals on several ways. The Italians chose to use progressive elements in their music which had a pitiful exhibition vocal-wise in the song “Escape”. These elements may also occur that it takes a while before you catch the atmosphere of the album as how it was meant even though we are living in dark, grey autumn days at this time. The fourth song “Maybe You Are…” will be the one that catches you with its diversity. After that there is plenty to enjoy, the album has 11 songs and over 50 minutes of music for you to hear. The use of growls in the album turns out very well. They fit in the music very well and just blend with the instruments perfectly.
In general, Resonance Room is a band you will follow on the grow. Especially in the vocals, there is often played on safe while taking some more risks might have spiced it up. As these will be expanded further there can be included so much more drama in the sound which will take their music to a higher level and wouldn’t it surprise me to see the band score some international success. “Unspoken” is a nice starter, a teaser for something more.
