Ohrenfeindt is a German punk rock band. The guys from Hamburg founded Ohrenfeindt in 1994. A lot has happened since them and brought along quite some releases. Six of them were full length studio albums. Their latest album is called “Motor An!” and comes with ten tracks that last for more than forty minutes.
Edgy vocals and distorted guitars come blasting at you when pressing play on “Motor An!”. All lyrics on this album are in German. The songs are telling stories about Hamburg, St. Pauli, the history of Rock’n’Roll and life itself. Along with the smoky voice of the singer, it almost feels as if you were told these stories while sitting in a local pub in Hamburg. The album and the music on it is very authentic and down to earth. You can hear that the band had these songs coming from the bottom of their hearts.
“Motor An!” is a dirty Rock’n’Roll album with a slight touch of sleaze. Honest and true, Ohrenfeindt are educating you about their home, life and passion. The lyrics might be in German, but the melodies and rhythms themselves are telling the stories just as well. This album is a must have for all fans of true Rock’n’Roll.
