The German trio has now released their debut EP “To Berlin”. It is called “To Berlin” because Berlin stands for creativity, independence for the arts and the big city where everything is possible. Basically the German version of the American Dream. So here they go, to Berlin to start something big.
The debut EP “To Berlin” comes with five tracks. Paper & Places composed very interesting music. Catchy melodies, thriving choruses, songs that definitely get stuck in your head. Songs that don’t sound like you have heard them before. Fresh music from a brand new band. Brilliant. To get an idea of what they sound like, just think of White Lies and take out the electronic touch. This comes pretty close to what Paper & Places sound like. Not melancholic but melodic with a certain touch added to the music, that makes you forget everything around you at first and just float along. Great to focus on the music when listening to it. After several times of listening to it, you still tend to drift off but you are able to catch your thoughts. Yet it is hard. This music by Paper & Places is meant for you to just relax your mind and let your thoughts drift. Simply wonderful. Addictive music. I played this EP 24-7 by now, and I am sure you will too when you listen to it. So go get “To Berlin” now. What an amazing new band.
