Majestic Downfall is a doom metal project by Jacobo Córdova. He is coming from Mexico and under this name he released a demo in 2007 and a split cd in 2008. 2009 was the year of the first full length and now the second one sees light. “The Blood Dance” is out now.
The sound of Majestic Downfall is yet again darker than dark, and maybe in their sound not much different from the debut album. It is melodic and yet aggressive, dark vocals as it would suit in a band like Before The Dawn for example. In general you can say the production is much better than what was before. The album starts calm but soon changes to more chaos and yet controllable. The guitars have a nice place in the sound and give a strong back up to the vocals which makes the melodic parts strong compared to the harder parts. Majestic Downfall has balanced it all perfectly and with plenty of variation in the songs the album is a nice one for the doom fans. A lot of progress have been made and it must be said that this is album you will pleasantly listen on repeat. Those who have been a bit skeptical at first will be surprised!
