Naked Giants – The Shadow

Label: New West Records
Releasedate: 21-08-2020

Naked Giants is an american band making Post Punk/Indie rock music. The band released their new album “The Shadow” recently.

When listening this album I immediately have to think of this Dutch thing called Popronde. Where hundreds of local bands start and get a chance to play in another city at a place for local bands. They fit right in there, the music is not too outstanding. A simple feel good sound that you nod your head to and then at the end of the evening you kind of forgot their name already. It is quite interchangeable music that does not have a very specific face of its own.
Sure, if you get a bit further in the tracklist you see they grow a bit, having some more dynamic in the songs, but when you have heard them all there is also not really one that sticks out from the rest.

Does this mean it is a terrible album then? No. Not that. Naked Giants has skills and the psychedelic feel to it has its moments, we think it is probably a thing that comes out live better. Hopefully they can give it some spice though, so you actually remember this band afterwards.
