Label: Roadrunner Records / Warner Music Releasedate: 02.10.2020
Corey Taylor, the singer of Stone Sour and Slipknot, has now released his first solo album. “CMFT” is the name of this powerful album and it comes with thirteen songs. This solo album is a brilliant collection of songs and sounds, moods and rhythms.
Each song has its own spirit, as well as its own mood. All songs, as different as they are, have the typical sound one would expect coming from Corey Taylor. Some songs remind more of Stone Sour – like “HWY 666” – while others, such as “CMFT must be stopped” or “European Tour Bus Bathroom Song”, sound a little more like Slipknot. But most songs are neither.
Smooth and extremely catchy songs are “Black Eyes Blue”, “Silverfish” and “Kansas”. These tree are slower and almost melancholic. With beautiful melodies and great lyrics, they melt your heart, just like the song “Home” will, and stay in your head. But as I said before, all songs have a certain something and are special in their very own way.
Corey Taylor has a brand new album out. “CMFT” could almost be a journey through his mind – and it most likely is. From slow and romantic to chaotic maniac, this album has it all. So sit back and relax, turn up the volume and let “CMFT” take over.
