In Estonia, we are not always so lucky to have abundance of good metal gigs. Bands often skip this little Baltic country and perform on the other side of the shore (Finland) instead. Therefore, many metalheads like myself are used to travel for hours back and forth to see a good gig. And, if we happen to have a good gig here, then we certainly celebrate it properly.
Festival-like evening began with Dead Shape Figure from Finland. Unfortunately, I made it to the venue only in the last moments of the gig. There were not many people at the venue yet, but the fans of Dead Shape Figure were enjoying the first hard beats of the night.
Diabolical were the next to fill the stage. The Swedish metal band won my heart with their song “We are Diabolical”. It felt somehow epic that a big bunch of audience started entering to the venue with slow steps when this song began.
The third band of the night was Krisiun from Ijuí, Brazil. Krisiun was founded by three brothers in 1990. They have eleven studio albums and one live album. They seem to tour a lot. I suggest to catch their live shows if they happen to play nearby! These guys have an amazing energy on stage and their music simply drives everyone in the mood.
At last SepticFlesh were on the stage! Founded in Greece in 1990, the band is known by many thanks to their album “Titan”, released in 2014. This 10-song album hit the chart from their hearts around the world and brought in some legendary songs to the metal scene. Following “Titan”, “Codex Omega” was released in 2017. This album continued the tradition of spectacular songs that are engraved in our brains. This was the latest album by SepticFlesh.
The band opened the show with “Portrait of a Headless Man“. Finally, the venue was full of excited fans and eyes that were amazed with the show happening on stage. Overall, everything was great. They played both old and new tracks that made everyone happy.
At the moment, the band is touring in Europe. In 2019, they have a busy schedule of concerts around the world. Make sure to check them out and mark your calendars already for an amazing evening with these Greek metal gods!
