17-10-2007 Big Boy

  And here we go again: Big Boy on stage, again. Only another club in another
  city and another opening act. The club was the Nachtleben in Frankfurt. And
  opener was Limbogott, an industrial/metal band from Hamburg. How Limbogott should
  be categorised exactly is probably best left up to the individual. They themselves
  casually describe their music as “New Level Shit”. But while one can
  argue over what label should be attached to them. They are five guys, two of
  them are vocalists. They were all wearing make-up and were dressed up like Halloween,
  looking like Zombies and stuff like that. They played for about 40 minutes,
  but couldn’t really enthuse the crowd, which was maybe because there were not
  many people. And the ones who were there, were mostly there because of Big Boy.

After them was it time for Big Boy. Need a band introduction again? Ok, a short one here: 5 gorgeous guys (AK playing bass, Lord playing guitar –this was the last tour with him along with Big Boy for now though, Happy behind the drums and Big Boy up front as vocalist). Getting the people warmed-up with the French intro “Lá Legion” to come on stage with a blast and the song “Gestasi Baby”. I really love Big Boy, they have so much power live and just pull you into the right here and now. You forget everything around you. Although there were not too many people it still felt more crowded than it was. Everybody seemed to have enjoyed the show. Singing and rocking along with The Lord, AK, Big Boy and Happy. They played for about an hour, Big Boy  running up and down the stage not getting tired at all, but drinking ABSOLUT vodka, as usual. But of course was he sharing with the audience. Tonight Big Boy wasn’t as destructive as he usually is, but there was something about the show tonight that was special. I just can’t figure out what it was. A great show, looking forward to see them again.
