Made five records in ten years, the band skipped two decades to return with the sixth. This brief history of Norwegian “kings of rock” Gluecifer crowned by Same Drug New High.
As proclaimed, the band proves the same intoxication with eleven tracks. The blasting opener grabs attention from the start. Sure thing, “The Idiot” hit the blockbusters’ high and got solid response from audience. The returning pack, including mentioned track, “Armadas” and “I’m Ready”, reached over 1 million views on Youtube in total.
Now heading to the material hear-worthy. Hidden gems, etc. If you never experienced the action Gluecifer offers, then “The Score” made things clear. Just “let the night roll over till the end of time”. The converging/diverging chords start “Pharmacity” and continue drilling during narrate. Crawled and creeping “On the Wire” reminds of previous “Good time used to kill me” or “Little man”. No need screaming, whispering is loud enough.
Moving backward to the high effect, all volume up to the record-titled “Same Drug New High”. Framed by “I do it again and again”, the track broke the line between past and present days.
Gluecifer never ruled the roast, but definitely brought unique intentions. That’s why the sound remains pretty much outstanding, hard describing and endlessly promising.
