Being the early birds of 2026, the Swedes Bullet didn’t hesitate to show the seventh record in the very beginning of the year. Having six albums since foundation in 2001, this year the band celebrates the 20th anniversary of the first release.
Served with the eleven tracks, Kickstarter lasted over three minutes each. Not typical for heavy metal tunes, and some even could be attributed as punk length.
Even though the band is relying on “Kickstarter” and “Chained by Metal”, there the numerous tracks that truly drive this record. The real kickstarter is “Caught in the Action.” It bursts with energy through killer chords. Then “Open Fire” lighting a bit. Living a true rockers life, “Hit The Road” declared “no turning back”. So, move on, the most metal “Spitfire” delivers relentless shooting riffs paired with itchy passages. “Full Throttle”, a well-balanced blend of hard and heavy elements, concentrates on instrumental solidity. Meanwhile, “Night Falls Down” serves as a being in time closing track—modest and measured. Altogether, the material is not much expressive and electrifying as it supposed to be. The truth is, the heavy armored rockers are not spiky enough.
Tributed to the golden era of heavy metal, Bullet doesn’t quite reach the alchemist formula that turned them into pure gold. However, for the true metallers it’s a thing.
