Khepra is a Turkish symphonic death metal band. After more than 7 years of silence, they are back with their much anticipated full-length album, “Anatomy of Sin”. Let’s dive deep.
“Anatomy of Sin” offers us eight fantastic songs and shows Khepra‘s strong comeback. The perfect mix of symphonic death metal and Anatolian mysticism forms the heart of “Anatomy of Sin”: Khepra manages to take their core sound to next level. Vocals, strong riffs and ritualistic melodies form the core of this album. One highlight is definitely the fantastic production and the cinematic arrangements. This is such an important component in an album like “Anatomy of Sin”. The album was mixed and mastered by Psychon of SEPTICFLESH, and the result is definitely there: A well-produced piece that flows, delivers that cinematic atmosphere and doesn’t lose its power.
Personally, I found the second half more powerful; it almost felt like the first half built a certain tension which explodes in the second half. Many little surprises and twists such as the choirs or the traditional instruments added such a great touch to the overall sound. I even noticed some black metal elements in songs like Raven and Purgatory... what a feast for the ears!
Khepra have definitely outdone themselves with “Anatomy of Sin” and exceeded my expectations. What a fantastic comeback and definitely one of the best of 2025. Get it and enjoy this ritualistic ride!
