Wucan – Axioms

Wucan – Axioms

Releasedate: 29-08-2025
Label: Long Branch Records

Wucan is a German rock band. Formed in 2011, the band’s style can be described as “retro rock” with inspirations from the 60s and 70s. They have released a couple of EPs and studio albums. Axioms is their latest record, and out this month via Long Branch Records.

“Axioms” opens a new chapter in Wucan’s career and brings a breath of fresh air. The band’s essence is still there and strong; the listeners will get to enjoy the funky retro tunes and the occasional rock’n’roll. However, this time we see Wucan experimenting with their sound and taking it to another dimension. This makes “Axioms” more progressive and dynamic. The sound is quite unique thanks to an excellent production and the band’s dedication of crafting their own style in this genre.

So what stands out in “Axioms”? It’s not just one highlight here and there but a combination of different elements and sensations. At one point, it’s the funky bass riffs and at another point it’s Francis’ vocals or integration of the instruments like the flutes and the theremin in the album. It’s an explosion of sensations left and right, and this is what makes “Axioms” flow and stay in your mind and ears.

“Axioms” definitely exceeded my expectations. It’s catchy, rock’n’roll and funky! Fans of this genre but also fans of good music in general will definitely enjoy this album from the beginning. The band will tour Europe soon so make sure to get your tickets and prepare to sweat!
