Cradle of Filth – The Screaming of the Valkyries

Cradle of Filth – The Screaming of the Valkyries

Releasedate: 21-03-2025
Label: Napalm Records

British extreme metal band Cradle of Filth continues to evolve their symphonic black metal sound with their fourteenth studio album, The Screaming of the Valkyries, released on March 21, 2025.

The album opens with “To Live Deliciously,” setting an atmospheric tone that transitions into the intense “Demagoguery,” where symphonic elements are combined with decent riffs. “The Trinity of Shadows” offers a dynamic blend of melodies, reflecting the band’s evolution while honoring their black metal roots. “Non Omnis Moriar” comes with a quite melancholic feel, typical like we know from Cradle of Filth. A familiar sound that embraces the fans from the previous releases while still bringing something new.
Tracks like “White Hellebore” and “You Are My Nautilus” showcases the band’s mastery in merging symphonic arrangements with heavy instrumentation, creating a captivating atmosphere. “Malignant Perfection” presents a fusion of gothic and black metal elements, while “Ex Sanguine Draculae” delves into dark, melodic territories, showcasing the band’s versatility. The album concludes with “When Misery Was a Stranger,” a composition that encapsulates the themes and musical explorations of the preceding tracks.

Now an album of Cradle of Filth won’t disappoint after many years of playing on their name, it is always a bit different than before and that speaks for the band, “The Screaming of the Valkyries” is no exception to that, looking forward to see this all live.
