The rearranged Finnish trio Dispyt is back with “Från melankoli till meningslöshet” (eng. “From melancholy to meaninglessness”), the third album all written in Swedish.

The long-titled record contains 9 (nine) tracks with different time of playing. So, there are several shorty punk and long metal samples. The voice of Finntroll, Mathias Lillmåns, made his job done here and brought some grumpy vibes this time.

At the first sight, the album had potential to unveil something beyond subgenres. It declared as blackened crust, though there are notes of doom and a bit of stoner. All this complaining with post-metal genres culminated in the middle of the record. Anyway, some trust worthy tracks mentioned below.

Starting with ”Tomhetens Madrigal”, that flavored with deep chords, almost groovy and stoner. The next good example is ”Livslustens Katakomber”, fruitful as punk with more cowbells. The closer track ”Men Sist och Slutligen Handlar ju Ändå Allting om Döden” titled like a short story, that in the end it all comes down to death. The interesting composition with meaningful contain.

During the listening, you can walk the path from melancholy to meaninglessness literally and make resume the record is nonsense at least. Although I hope, Dispyt has more solid material to continue its run.
