March of Scylla is the progressive rock formation based in France. Started with “Dark Myth” EP in 2023, this March the band leveled up and released the debut “Andromeda” LP.
The current release, filled with ten tracks, lasts within an hour. This is wholesome material, needless separate into tracks.
The absolutely top is opener “Ulysses’ Lies”, the song gave to green light for continuing listening and crossed the dots about the bands’ style. All the tracks is the mix of groove, metalcore and mostly quasi-progressive rock. The stuff called post-something with raw and calm voice parts. Anyway, it’s pleasure for ears with bubbling cosmic vibes, despite of the tittles like “Death Experience” and “Storm Dancer”. Both recommended. “Death Experience” has shooting riffs, long guitar solo and even growling. Through the fluid material, two minutes intergalactic connection in “To Cassiopeia”, nearly acapella, is pretty much different. “Achilles’choice” sounds like narrative accompanied by crying guitars and spiral dynamics. The last mentioned track is “Myrrha”, spiced with moaning and crawling riffs.
I hesitate to compare sound that March of Scylla made with something on rock scene. As for me, it’s outstanding. The magnetic experience with the band seems like space journey. Free your mind and deep dive in “Andromeda”.
