The Devils is a rock’n’roll band. Formed in Naples in 2015, the band embodies the definitive sound of chaos with a primal sound that fuses sex, sin, and rock ’n’ roll. Their sixth album “Devil’s Got It”, which is a cover album, is out now via Go Down Records. It was recorded in Napoli, and mixed and mastered by Alain Johannes.
“Devil’s Got It” is special for many reasons. You might think this is just another one of those cover albums, but The Devils gives it their all in this one. There is this raw and from-the-heart feeling that will get you grooving and moving from the beginning. Considering that the band has never played blues/soul before, their interpretation of this genre is quite fascinating. From the melodies to the drums, you can tell that there is a curiosity and passion oozing. All in all, blues/soul is what this is all about: The music from the heart and letting it flow!
With “Devil’s Got It”, The Devils is also celebrating their 10th year anniversary. As you can imagine, the band wanted to pay tribute to this genre, which has inspired them and encouraged them to explore. One highlight worth mentioning is the powerful and electric vocals by both Erika and Gianni, which drive the whole album and is the spotlight of the overall sound in my opinion. Combined with the perfect production and choice of songs, The Devils takes us through time travel and delivers some fantastic tunes!
“Devil’s Got It” is definitely recommended to the lovers of blues/soul and for the curious minds. Get it and listen to it, you will keep on spinning this one for sure. Happy 10th year anniversary to The Devils!
