Throne Of Thorns – Converging Parallel Worlds

Releasedate: 16th of February 2024
Label: Rock Of Angels Records

The debut album “Converging Parallel Worlds” of Belgian metallers “Throne Of Thorns” released this February via “Rock Of Angels Records”.

In this case, we are dealing with no newbies of music scene. Here the current members of heavy-metal “Ostrogoth” and modern metal “Reject the Sickness” for the leading and backing vocals. Let see what the effect this fact brought to the material.

For seizing the whole picture, I’ve re-listen to the album several times. Unfortunately, it crashed into the non-comparing pieces repeatedly. Additionally, timing of the record non-proportionally divided amongst tracks. The shortest track lasts circa three minutes and the longest – over eleven. Hardly to pick the key tracks, when there is no mind-blowing examples.

Anyway, there is three tracks in the good-to-hear list. The first nominee is “Storm makers” like presetation of title, stormy and speedy for the length of the track, but calmed in the end. As the big water changed its mind and let the massive ship sails in the right direction with expression of crying guitars in “Atomic retribution“. To fixing the atmosphere of heavy metal legacy, here the third song for the recommendation – “Black diamond” with equipment-concerned parts.

Honestly, I doubt if I remember any song in perspective, but for the moment it was a good solution.

Line up:

  • Thomas “Jethro” Verleye – guitars, bass
  • Josey Hindrix – vocals
  • Baruch van Bellegem – drums
