BDRMM – I Don’t Know

BDRMM is a British formation that makes Dream Pop. Or… Indie Rock/Post Shoe Gaze… it’s all mentioned to describe them. “I Don’t Know” is their latest album, it is available now.

One could easily find themselves with the description of Dream Pop for this music we would say, for it surely has a dreamy atmosphere. Sound scapes that are light, electric and a bit spacey. But with albums like this it is always the question if it fits the mood. For a metal head this thing may be causing a bit of a headache. Even those who appreciate the darker version of music like this, in vein of Gnaw Their Tongues or Blut Aus Nord will see themselves zoning out of it soon.

Why it does not hit ground? Well, it appear that the songs of this album are interchangeable. It is hard to find one on this release that is really sticking out from the others. If you have to find one, “It’s Just A Bit Of Blood” may be it. A slight bit more energy in there, but overall it feels too much in one line.

Such a pity that BDRMM is not able to surprise us positively with their release. It seems like they have a good idea of what they want to make, but are still in a search on how to expand on it, to create a bit more character. Perhaps in future they will find their way.
