Finnish Metal formation Omnium Gatherum is one we came across a lot and also this festivalseason we won’t miss out on them. Just before the summer hits, the guys come with an EP “Slasher” making sure we have something new to listen to.

Four tracks are on this EP of which one, we can start with, is a cover. “Maniac” is hardly unknown, a track from the movie Flashdance. An odd choice, but the band makes it suitable for darkness. Yet, it is not full-on Omnium Gatherum maybe. A bit of a strange track. Not bad though, surely something that brings a smile to our face. But looking at the band’s own tracks there is much to get excited about as well.

“Sacred” for example, is a energetic track that we can imagine will get many live show going this season and when you hear title track “Slasher” you realize that Omnium Gatherum has become a stable factor in time. You know what to get from them, a good quality sound. With “Slasher” that is not any different.

Simply said, it may be just an EP with four tracks but it is a nice one for the collection. It gives you what you expect plus a little more to bring a smile on your face the moment you hear it.
