Winter – Fire Rider

Releasedate: 2022
Label: Wintergothic Records

Winter is a German project by Markus Winter. Besides making music he is also writing books. And while he serves as multi instrumentalist, he also has some other members along in this project. Last year the album “Looking Back” got released and it is followed up by “Fire Rider”.

After the re-release we received from Winter before, we now receive an album with new material. Quite some tracks to be found, 16 tracks clocking an hour and 17 minutes total. Opener “Unholy Blood” is a pretty calm track that leads you into the album. Some solo in there to enjoy. Nothing too wild but simply a nice part to shine for the guitars.
There are some guests involved in the album, but the focus is mostly on Winter and that is good. A guest here and there enriches it but the guests should not be carrying the album and this seems to be well understood.
Interesting to see a track like “Child of The 80’s” which is an ode to the sound that mainman Markus seem to enjoy. It contains a spicier tempo, some heavier guitars but above all a siniter edge here and there.

“Fire Rider” is a nice Rock album that is varied, never too wild and gives you plenty of time to focus on the details that are carefully implemented in the music. You won’t get bored with it even with 16 tracks and shows all signs of being a potential live cracker!
