…and Oceans – As in Gardens, so in Tombs

…and Oceans is a Finnish Melodic Black Metal band. The have been inactive for quite some years until in 2020 a new full length came out. This year another one is releasing, it is called “As in Gardens, So in Tombs” and it is available now.

The first couple tracks on this release reminded a slight bit to Anorexia Nervosa, but a bit less hysterical. The mix is a bit more balanced to have the guitars give leading role and not so much got for the extra symphonic part to be on top of that bit as a support to their sound.

The band released the track “Cloud Heads” earlier as a single which makes sense. It gives a good overview of what to expect from this release. But when looking at the range you can find “The Collector and His Construct”, which is on the heavier side where drums are more upfront or “Wine into Water” which is having a smooth sound throughout, no matter where the track leads you.

…and Oceans has released a rather diverse album with “As In Gardens, So In Tombs”. It has great symphonic moments but with enough power and Black Metal vibes to please Black Metal fans with a wide scope. An album that we will probably play quite some times this year.
