Dark Funeral – We Are The Apocalypse

Dark Funeral is a Black Metal formation from Sweden founded in 1993. The band released six albums and number 7 is ahead. It is called “We Are the Apocalypse”.

Dark Funeral does not need much of an intro, with all they have released they have grounded themselves well. It has been a while since their last album, the band has taken their time. We can’t be sad about that too much as from the first song on you know the band is delivering a strong album once again. Just as expected after their discography has brought a legacy along.

Despite the past, the band has got two new members on board since the last release which means you have an uncertainty. Not much of a problem, the duo seem to fit right in, On drums we see a new face with Jalomaah and Adra-Melek is having bass duties.

We must put a bit of a sidenote. If you expext to be surprised we must disappoint you a bit. “We Are The Apocalypse” is not album that sets you up with something new, they don’t stray too far from previous releases but of you listen to a track like “Nosferatu” you totally forgot any need for that whatsoever. The quality that Dark Funeral brings make this album a pleasant one.
Another track that jumps out is is “When I Am Gone” which has a good balance in the track, simply playing it as you want to hear it from them.

“We Are The Apocalypse” is the album you want to hear before the summer comes. Inevitably the band comes along at a festival and it release just as strong as the other ones from them so you want to see them playing these live. Dark Funeral does not disappoint!
