Hakon Høye is a Norwegian artist that has been playing music from young age and never stopped doing that. With his blues music he released music with a variation of bands and projects and now we have a new one on his own name in our hands. It is called “Nights At The Surf Motel” and it is available now.

As a multi-instrumentalist it is not surprising to hear this album has a variety if sounds in it. In good balance, because the artists who joined Hakon Høye on this record are stepping forward also. Yet, it is that guitar that seeks the most of the spotlight. Calm songs with a feel-good atmosphere are played. All lyrically taken from life anno 2020 and so very recognizable for the listener. With including two covers into the tracklist, Hakon Høye gives a look into how he can transform something else into his style as these tracks suit quite well amongst his own.

Altogether “Nights At The Surf Motel” is an album that is pleasant to listen to, perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon in summer. Playing that to have some time to relax, a beer in your hands and the sun lightning the sky well.
