Support: SID; venue: Bibelot, Dordrecht (Netherlands)
By: Sabine van Gameren
In the pretty filled Bibelot, Dordecht SID was about to open the evening. They make very danceable electronic music which tends to be quite industrial. They dislike the presence of physical singers in the music. What is left to impress: A drummer, a guitarist, a bassist and a DJ with a laptop! They bring us beats which can be felt through your whole body. The audience responded a bit held back. In the end, most of them came for the more happy Vive la Fete. |
When Vive la Fête started, the venue was quite packed. Vive la Fête is known by their very danceable music, French lyrics and energetic live shows. They released already five records so of course I was not surprised so many people enjoying the show tonight. The band was in the beginning quite calm. It was clear the band got energy of the reactions of the audience because after a few songs we got full power. Music of Vive la Fête is catchy and makes you happy. Singer Els dances on the stage from the beginning till the last long! She frisks on her toes with the microphone as her support. Way too soon they play “Noir Desir” the last song before their break. When Els leaves the stage after she finished singing, the rest of the band goes on with an instrumental part where especially guitarist Danny and Bassist Dirk have their moments of glory. After a while they leave us well.Luckily they came back for an encore of four songs. Unfortunately, after this the party is really over.
