Bury me deep – Nearly Down

Releasedate: 26-06-2009; Label: Silverdust (Soulfood Music)
By: Nina Mende

When “Michelle Darkness” took over the vocals in 1999 it was it was clear immediately: that was the missing part of the “whole”! Michelle’s voice and the dark and sad but also rocky songs completed each other perfectly to a beautiful, melancholic sound that almost bursts of catchy tunes and hymns! After two studio recordings (2000 – buried love, 2005 – sleepless sorrows) the band found together again and orientated itself newly. After a long creative break early 2009 the band has met again in the studio, this time in darklandcity directly, to realize new ideas. Successfully: with a new name called “Bury Me Deep”

Yes, you read right, Michelle Darkness. The singer of End Of Green. And the album reminds a lot of that. Melancholic, melodic and gloomy the thirteen songs dig deep slowly. Thriving tunes will take you on a journey through dark lands and deep sad thought. Tragic accompanies you along the rivers of tear. The lyrics cut deep and stay in your ear like scars. “Near Down” is a nice gothic album packed with lots of emotions, mostly sad and melancholic but still catchy and get you going along. The booklet layout is just as dark as the music. On the cover you can see a foggy long road, empty and cold. In the booklet you can find the lyrics as well as pictures of each band member.
