Rome is an “apocalyptic martial folk” act founded in November 2005 as a main output for the songs of Jerome Reuter, Luxembourg. In early 2006 Rome was signed to Cold Meat Industry record label. Rome has since signed with the Trisol Music Group record label as of 2009.
This album “Flowers From Exile” is an extremely thoughtful, slow and melodic album. It begins with the sound of water and some Italian talking in a low voice. The beginning music is a little gloomy because of these sounds and a very soft music. It gets sad and even quite tragic as the piano sets in. But the whole album is very emotional and touchy. It is spreading and revealing pure emotions. You can continuously hear the shore in the background on some songs as well. The music is held on a very acoustic level without too much extra sounds added. On “Odessa” you can hear some German talking which sounds like an audio book. This album is great for everybody who likes relaxing slow music, thoughtful lyrics and the sound of the ocean.
