The Sin Committee is a Dutch progressive metal formation, who just released their second EP called: “Confess”
The Sin Committee is formed in 2006 and before the guys from the city of Nijmegen released “Confess”, they released an EP in 2007 called “Wormwood”.
“Confess comes with a colorful artwork, very attractive and it triggers your imagination. A booklet foresees you with the lyrics.
Musically, The Sin Committee brings progressive metal with a sure international allure. There are various styles used, where clean vocals and grunts switch off and on. Maybe a little fire in here could have spiced it up though, it could have brought with a bit more fire. The band changes from fast to slow and back but managed to make it sound real and unforced and is instrumentally a very interesting act. In bass and drums there is a lot more to hear than in some other acts who released complete albums recently. As this release surely surprised me, I wonder what will be there for them in future. Hopefully a full length will arrive soon enough where there can be place for instrumental surprises.
The band is currently unsigned, but I would say this EP opens doors for them. It is just waiting till some label picks them up, let them work on more material and puts them on the road to Europe and beyond with some major names to give them the change to let the rest of the world get into the sound of The Sin Committee as well.
