Chris Isaak is one of the biggest American singers, he is coming from California. He is also an occasional actor and in the music business since 1984. Since then he has twelve studio albums released including the latest “Mr. Lucky”.
The album is about being loved and left, loving and leaving. Touchy, emotional and heartbreaking as usual sounds Chris Isaak even on this album. Slow, melodic and touchy the melodies go straight into your heart. Chris Isaak is still using his complete range of voice including the high pitched notes.
“We’ve Got Tomorrow” sounds very country like, it also includes brass. It has an extremely catchy melody and chorus though. “Breaking Apart” is a duet featuring Trisha Yearwood, an American Country singer and actress. If you listen close you can also find female backing vocals on “Baby Baby”. “Mr. Lonely Man” stands out with its crazy sound, fast and danceable, a mix of different music styles. It sounds funny and spreads happiness. Another duet on the album is “I Lose My Heart” featuring Michelle Branch. “Summer Holiday” is a real summer song making you dream of beach, sun and ocean. Another extremely catchy song is “Best I Ever Had”, the chorus is easy to sing along and the rhythm makes you go along for sure. “Take My Heart” is a very swingy song sounding like out of the 60s.
All in all the album is very emotional and touchy, slow and melodic.
