Kelly Clarkson – All I Ever Wanted

Releasedate: 06-03-2009; Label: Sony BMG
By: Nina Mende

Kelly Clarkson is an American pop singer from Texas. She won the first season of American Idol in 2002 and has become quite popular since then. She also acted in several movies. With “All I Ever Wanted” she now released her fourth album.

The album is very poppy. Some songs remind of old P!nk (for example “All I Ever Wanted”) and a little bit of Mandy Moore as well. The song “Whyyouwannabringmedown” is a quite rappy hip hop song. All pieces on this album are getting stuck in your head, open your mind to her music and link the lyrics in your mind so you put personal emotions in each and every single song. Kelly’s voice changes between passionate and quiet to loud, full and strong as in the choruses. The songs make you at least nod along and go along with the beat. Kelly Clarkson sings about love, missing loved ones and other emotional issues not only every teenager worries about every day. This album is like having your best friend over for a sleep over and a PJ party, talking about boys, giggling and just being girls. The saddest song is “Cry”, the happiest – well you make your pick since there is more than one. I think even though it sounds a lot like a “teenager album” at times the songs are very personal for Kelly Clarkson. Furthermore are the songs very danceable and most likely the ones you hear on the radio in the morning or on your way to work. “Don’t Let Me Stop You” is a very tragic song, not only sound wise. There’s no song that particularly sticks out and yet is each song different. Kelly Clarkson and “All I Ever Wanted”, her latest album, not only on your radio station but also in stores now.
