The Burning is coming from Denmark. “Rewaking” is the second full length album from the Thrashers, following up their debut “Storm The Walls”.
Considering the fact that this band is only existing for three years, I must say I am very pleased with what I heard when listening to this album. A lot of anger, comes forth from this Danish formation. Expect a lot of up-tempo songs with mean, vicious riffs and deep dark rebelicious lyrics. If the world is hurting you, a few minutes with “Rewakening” makes you feel understood, gives you strength and power to fight and brings up the aggressive part of you. The songs are complete and well arranged, the balance between the instruments and the vocals are perfect. The vocals come over demanding, meaning this in the way that you feel like you have to pay attention, there is some important message to share with you. Though, never ever did vocalist Johnny Haven crossed that border where it turns into a scream of attention of an unimportant, uncharismatic teacher that begs for attention of his students by continuously screaming.
A bit of the typical, “No bullshit, just fucking metal” mentality is in here and this makes it daring, seducing and exciting. A shameless flirt with those who adore influences of death and thrash metal mixed up.
You can’t deny that these Danish guys made a really good album and if you did not know better, you probably thought they would be around for years.
