Super700 was founded in Berlin in 2003, they sang a soundtrack song to the movie “Dancing With Myself” which was presented at the Berlinale in 2005. Lovebites is their second album.
The new album “Lovebites” is very melodic and dreamy. Most songs are quite slow as well, others are more rhythmic and very danceable for clubs. The style is hard to describe. Somehow synth pop combined with psychedelic elements, a little bit of rock and some melancholy.
I guess that is the raw recipe of what they put into this album. “Drive Too Fast” closes with Arabic singing for quite a while. Lovebites is a smooth and chilling album: A perfect album for lazy Sundays, where you want to stay in bed all day or for rainy days you don’t dare to go outside.
Super 700 are currently on tour with Polarkreis 18, so maybe you have the chance to check them out live. I definitely will.
