Beyond the Dream – The Sin Against The Sinners

Releasedate: 12-01-2009
By: Sabine van Gameren

Some of the members of Beyond the Dream, might also be known by you as musicians of The Myth of Autumn or Code For Silence, but now they released their first full length album “The Sin Against The Sinners” under the name of Beyond the Dream.

They are coming from Jyväskylä, Finland and you can expect them to make melodic dark metal with a lot symphonic lines in the music.
The album seems a bit like a story to me. It starts with an instrumental intro but the songs that follow could have been used in computer games like Civilization or Age of Empires. Calm and quiet pieces are switching off and on, but it all seems to belong together like the pieces of a puzzle. Drums mostly get my attention while listening their music. They have been done very well and fit so nicely in with the rest. Riffs are not the most original ones, same goes for vocals and the total outcome, but there is the question if you have to change a winning factor?
Music like Beyond the Dream makes is not unique, but there are plenty of people who likes it.

On “The Sin Against The Sinners” I have not really found one song that stands out that much that I can imagine it would be released as a single, but perhaps that has to do with the story like structure of the album.
Nevertheless the band has delivered a decent album, I just wait for the stamp with their name on it, to make you hear it and say: THAT is Beyond The Dream!
