Good Charlotte is an American rock band from Waldorf, Maryland that formed in 1996, now mostly living in LA. They took their name from the children’s book called “Good Charlotte: The Girls of Good Day Orphanage,” written by Carol Beach York. The members of the band are the identical twin brothers Joel Madden (lead vocals) and Benji Madden (guitars and backing vocals), Billy Martin (guitars, keyboards), Paul Thomas (bass guitar) and Dean Butterworth (drums). They have four albums released so far plus this Best Of-Remix album now. A new one will be release some time next year; at least that’s the plan. We’ll see.
This album is a sort of Best Of (Remixes) album with only one new song on it, which is “Anxiety”. The remixes differ, some are dance floor or club ones, others are rap or hip hop ones and some are more reggae like. “Broken Hearts Parade” for example is a reggae piece on this album. “The Anthem” has more talking on it and the repetition of “This is the anthem…”. “Keep Your Hands Off My Girl” has the high pitched “uhhuh” but not as much as in the original version, instead it’s got a lot of rapping on it. “The Young & The Hopeless” is a typical Hahn (Linkin Park keyboarder) remix with the industrial sound.
All in all this album is a great collection of the released singles of Good Charlotte as remixes, DJs would love it and Die-Hard Good Charlotte fans have a great Christmas present. This album is also great if you just want to listen to the hits of GC and are into remixes.
