Peter Tägtgren, also known as the front man of Hypocrisy, released another album under the name Pain. This album called ‘Cynical Paradise” is the sixth album of the industrial metal band.
Pain is a band that mostly got known to me when the catchy and yet so easy to pick up “Shut Your Mouth” got released in the year 2002. This single was taken from the “Nothing Remains the Same” album. Peter Tägtgren is the one and only member of Pain.
On this album we found an interesting cooperation with Nightwish vocalist Anette Olzon in the song “Follow Me”. Anette can also be heard in the last song on the album called: “Feed Us”.
From “Cynical Paradise” you get exactly what you might have expect of it. Another dose of catchy industrial metal song. Just as we got use to through the years. The name of the album gives the atmosphere on purpose. When you liked the older albums of Pain you won’t be disappointed because Peter Tägtgren once again succeeded in bringing metal with tunes that stick to mind easily, lyrics that you sing along from the first moment you hear them, driving riffs and typical steady industrial drum work.
The thing with the music of Pain is: You either like it, or you dislike it from the bottom of your heart. There is not something in between.
