Release date: 30-05-2007, Label: Underarts
By: Sabine van Gameren
Velcra started as a typical mix between nu-metal and Industrial. This Finnish band might be not that well known in Europe, but that might change with the latest release. With their new album Hadal they seem to have made some changes from what they have done before on the albums “Between Force and Fate” and “Consequences of Disobedience”.
Female Singer Jessi Frey sings more clean on Hadal. What not changed at all is the way of expressing. You still believe every word Jessi sings. The songs on Hadal might sound less energetic though.
The instrumental part is definitely worth to mention as well. The electronic part of it takes an important place in the music of Velcra. It keeps you listening and listening to the unique sound. When you hear the song Hadal you really get into a sort of trance. You feel like there is an important story told and you need to know all about it. Have you ever been that curious?
Then when you hear “Quick and Dirty”, Jessi tells how come: “The devil made
me do it”!
Tempelores says: It is time to break through to in Europe and the rest of the world.
