It’s so great to be back in Helsinki. And especially being back at Virgin Oil where I spent almost every day during August 2007. Tonight I was there to see 51koodia who where opening for Happoradio who I was also curious for to see. Both bands are from Finland and singing in Finnish. 51koodia is more rock while Happoradio is more pop but that didn’t matter at all. Virgin Oil was crowded, not only the ground floor but also the upper floor, everybody sang and danced along and had a great time.

So, first band tonight, as I said, was 51koodia, a band founded in 2002 in Joensuu. They played for about an hour with many fans singing and clapping along, having a great time. The light on stage was better than it was last time I saw them and somehow the whole atmosphere was better. The band did a great performance and you could tell that they love what they are doing. You could also tell that they enjoyed the full Virgin Oil cheering for them. The guys seemed so happy on stage. The sound was great as well and they played songs from all their albums.

Now it was time for Happoradio, a Finnish band founded in 2001. The light wasn’t that good anymore but fitting to the atmosphere and the slower songs they played. They mostly played songs from the new album, but they also played “HC-ssä” and “Tavikset”. The fans in the front row were not the same as they had been for 51koodia, but it was still crowded and everybody sang along, cheered and clapped.

Great bands and a great night it was here at Virgin Oil. Thanks.
