chILL is a metal band from Finland. Their very first formation was in 1995, but not until 2006 there was a steady line up. The recently released “Controlled Chaos”.
The first thing that jumped in mind when hearing chILL is that they sounded a bit like Pain. Though, their music is maybe a bit rawer. Every now and then, you hear a scream in the vocals, what makes it all a bit more aggressive. The second song “Twist the Knife” features some sweet female vocals by a woman called Miona.
After listening to a couple of songs I hear the vocals turning a bit hoarse, which is a shame.
Guitars in this music are not too dominant. A try to get them melodic is there but somehow they are pushed away a bit too much in the background. More impressive are the drums. They claim the rightful place in their music.
I see a band in chILL which is still experimenting in search of their own sound. Somehow it now sound too much like the same, not yet found a surprising element. There is some potential in the band though. The vocals are not basic, but on “Controlled Chaos” the band just did not show the best of their selves yet.

Jouni Rantanen – vocals
