Flare – Lost From Love

Releasedate: 23-08-2008; Label: Flarerecords / Nordicrecords
By: Nina Mende

After „ In Search of Fame“ this is the second album from the Norwegian trio Flare. Although I am already holding their new album in hands for some weeks, I didn’t get to listen to it completely till just now. Flare is a pop band with glam and happiness from Bergen, Norway. They have been praised as the missing link between the Darkness and Keane, somewhere in between. But somehow this album also reminds me of A-HA and such when listening to it.

The music is quite slow and thoughtful, touchy and emotional. Deep lyrics and melodic sounds make you drift off and think about a lot. Somehow dreamy yet realistic is the feeling I got from listening to it. A slight melancholy adds even deeper feeling to the songs about love, loneliness and heartaches. As I said before the music is quite poppy, positive emotions spread through bright melodies and great songs. The album seems to be over in no time and make you want to press replay. A great second album of these three Norwegians.
