End of Green – The Sick's Sense

Releasedate: 15-08-2008; Label:Silverdust Records
By: Nina Mende

End of Green is a German band founded in Stuttgart in 1992. The color in the band name relates to hope, so it basically means end of hope. According to the singer this describes the style of music quite well, which he would also describe as “Depressed Subcore”. However, they have five albums released so far and their sixth just came out: “The Sick’s Sense”. The limited version of it includes a bonus CD with five acoustic tracks.

The singer has a dark and gloomy voice, somehow reminding of Type O Negative. The songs are melancholy and dark. The music touches you deep and makes you feel the sorrow in it. You will still rock along to the beats and melodies End of Green put on this album. The album has slow and fast songs, hard and soft ones, a great mix of all. The slowest songs are “My Crying Veins” which I would call the ballad of the album, a gorgeous and somehow tragic song with higher more passionate vocals and a great melody. And then the song “Sunday Morning” is another quite slow one. “Let Sleeping Gods Lie” is a quite slow one as well and of course the last one “Bury Me Down (The End)”. All in all this new End Of Green album is a wonderful one, filled with emotions and passion.
