Skaguitar is a duo from Amsterdam. Bobbie van Houten and Gerben Rienk Visser are both known by some other projects they were involved.
Skasters and Rude Rich And The High Notes are the most known of them. In 2001 they released a mini cd under the name of Skaguitar, but in the year 2007 they gave their full attention to working on an full length album: “More Ska, More Guitar”.
This album consist of a lot of instrumental songs, but the band also worked with some guest musicians. Mark Foggo and Maaike Lans both gave vocals to a song on the album and many other artists added an instrumental touch to the album.
The album shows you a wide view over the ska genre. It seems like a lot of influences are included, which makes this album quite divers.
Skaguitar brought us music with this album which is very listenable in different situation, whether you are a ska fan or not. It is very imaginable that you hear their music somewhere in a restaurant, in a lounge bar or in a club and that is probably the biggest strength of them.
