The Giant Leap – Another Day Rising

  The Giant Leap was founded in Helsinki in 2005 and is known for its powerful
  rock sounds, strong lyrics and confident live performance. The present make-up
  of the band was settled in summer 2005 as the founding members Sebastian Rejman
  and Petri Somer met Sami Lehto. Sebastian and Petri are responsible for the
  lyrics and Sami for the arrangement and production. All members of the band
  have a solid musical background – a fact almost tangible in their music which
  floats somewhere on the borderland of melodic rock and power pop mixing different
  musical genres from soul to country.

  The first album of the band was released in autumn 2007. The pieces have emerged
  over the years as a result of various life experiences. The first single “All
  in My Head” was a foretaste of the material published in the autumn.

  I know, the album is out for a while already, but lame me, I had never heard
  of the band before until I listened to rock.fi 2007, a 2CD compilation with
  Finnish artists, where one song caught my attention and wouldn’t get out
  of my mind. It was ”Somebody Else” by The Giant Leap. I was fascinated
  by that song and wanted more. So I got the album and I wanted to share my impression
  of it with you. Maybe the one or the other will fall in love with the band,
  or rather the music, just like I did. The CD is completely white. It looks really
  nice. Just like the promo pictures in the album.

  The songs are all really nice and could be put in one genre with Sunrise Avenue
  or Poets of the Fall. Sebastian has a gorgeous voice that captivates you. Eleven
  songs with great melodies and lyrics, soft and gentle. ”Another Day Rising”
  is a wonderful love song and ”Heaven Ain’t Here” is my favorite
  on the album. ”Another Day Rising” is perfect for spring time. With
  its catchy melodies it is also great for singing along and drifting away in
  your thoughts. The album includes a gorgeous untitled and hidden track, be sure
  to check that one out. The Giant Leap is a wonderful band and I am sure we will
  hear more from them soon!!!
