Dioramic is one of those bands that prefers not to be placed into a genre. The trio from Germany released their debut album “Technicolor” via Lifeforce Records.
Although the band doesn’t want to be categorized, a small hint of what to expect is perhaps a wise idea. The first reference that came to mind when listening to their music is the Dutch band Green Lizard. This due to the core elements and experimental adventures it captures. There are rhythms that are indeed a bit away from the standard, vocals that especially in the cleaner parts wink to the earlier mentioned reference. Interesting is the implementation of the breaks sometimes in the song, building up some tension. The band perhaps could have advanced this more to create higher climaxes. The music is now sweeter than hoped for. Metal with a dose of sugar. Nevertheless it is very listenable and opens up for a wide audience by being not too aggressive. All it needs is that highlight that drags you into the music and let you feel it every time you listen, that does not happen right now. It has potential and the album is one you would like to try anyway, for the sake of getting a taste of a band that would be able to create an intense live sensation with this music.
