Puddle of Mudd is an American Post-grunge band from Kansas City, Missouri. They achieved success on rock radio and some success in the mainstream, and their major-label debut Come Clean has sold over 5 million copies. To date the band has sold over 7 million albums, and have had a string of #1 mainstream rock singles in the U.S. Now they have released their latest album “Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love & Hate”.
Their fourth studio album still has the typical grundge sound Puddle Of Mudd always had. In some songs you can hear a little bit of a typical Foo Fighter sound. All songs are rocking and kicking ass. Thriving songs all the way throughout the album cause an urge in you to shout and go along to the music. The lyrics are deep and the singer knows how to make that clear to you with his voice. As usual Puddle Of Mudd goes deeper than you first expect it. The songs are about real life, nothing imaginary or dreaming, only pure facts and the hurting truth, another typical thing about Puddle Of Mudd. At first you might not think this album is too special, but the more you listen to it, the more you get hooked. The booklet includes all the lyrics and a few band pictures. The layout is held quite dark. A female eye with smoky makeup is glancing at you from the cover. Whichever version with whichever bonus tracks you get: Enjoy the Songs in the Key of Love & Hate. And remember: Nothing is as it seems in the first place.
