The Australian (Tasmania to be precise) Black Metal band Ruins released their third full length album named: “ Front the Final Foes”
The band that formed in 2002 represents a part of the world that is particularly known for their Black Metal, which makes them one of those names you have an extra eye on. Ruins have sporadically a flirt going on with Death Metal including some deeper vocals and maybe a bit more aggressive side than you might have expected. On the guitars there is never a super surprising element but nevertheless it does not bore at all. The duo behind Ruins contains of Alex on drums and Dave who takes care of the rest. The guitar is well balanced with the present drums and vocals. Bass is a good back up, but could have been brought a bit elastic It feels that there could have been some more creativity with that as it does take a certain place in the music that is rather dominating for what it actually is.
The most positive things to mention on the album are the vocals and the drums. Also, a very well production is done on the album, making this sound right. It’s a decent album that will be on the play for a bit.
Line up:
Alex – Guitars, Bass, Vocals
