Supports: Sturch, Kim?; Venue: Cafe Central, Weinheim (Germany)

Tonight we spent at Cafe Central in Weinheim, a cute little club. Three bands were playing here tonight, but all were waiting fort he last one only. So it happened that during the first band the venue was still quite empty, people were at the bar instead of in front of the stage. The first band was called Sturch, a German rock band. Their music was catchy and easy going. The singer talked a lot to the audience trying to get them to come closer to the stage. The audience didn’t come, so the singer went over to them saying hello to all of them. I found it very impressive how little it seemed to bother him that the audience was not too interested in them. The band tried really hard and the music was good. But it was a Wednesday evening in the little town of Weinheim, so it was not the bands fault. We liked them and danced along.

Half an hour later KIM? entered the stage. A German punk rock trio that kicked ass. By now more people had found their ways towards the stage and the club was filling up. The singer had a skelleton hanging from his microphone stand. During one song he performed a short dance with it as well. Their lyrics were in German and the guys rocked the little stage and the little club. Many of the people could sing along, even more were dancing along. KIM? rocked it for a little over 30 minutes as well.

By now the club was quite crowded and it was time fort he last band tonight: The German rock band Emil Bulls. Their backdrop had the cover of the new album „Phoenix“ on it and they played quite a few songs of this album as well. But they also played old songs. The guys moved and rocked their hearts out on stage while their fans did it in front of the stage. There were moshpits going on and many kids were banging along to the music, singing and cheering out loud after each song. It was a very familiar feeling in the club. The audience even enjoyed the slower songs of Emil Bulls. As encore they played „I Don’t Belong Here“, a very touchy performance that warmed even the coldest heart in the room. It was a very thriving and energetic show that definitely got everybody going along. Emil Bulls is a gorgeous live band that you definitely should check out.
