Lynch Mob – Smoke And Mirrors

Releasedate: 18-09-2009; Label: Frontiers Records
By: Lara Cappelli

Lynch Mob is an American rock band that has now reunited after their numerous splits and published its latest album, Smoke And Mirrors.

Lynch Mob has been around for quite some time now, as a matter of fact the band was founded back in 1989 and maybe this is the fact that makes sound the album really balanced and mature. Even if this band is not exactly the example of “united band”, the album sounds really compact and, above all, doesn’t sound like the fruit of just one band mate who concentrated each song on his guitar solos. The songs are balanced to give every instruments its importance and relevance on the album, they don’t follow the same structure, on the contrary there are different pieces of music meticulously chosen and put together. The actual thing that makes the whole listening really pleasant is that you don’t find the ordinary rock songs that you expect, but the influences hearable go from old hard rock (Lucky Man) to blues (Where Do You Sleep At Night?) and recalls to funky as well (My Kind Of Healer).

Oni Logan – vocals
