After years of gigging locally, Bitune finally came together in Eschwege, Germany in early 2001 when Christian Wosimski (guitar) joined Sascha Wiegand (guitar, vocals), Martin Bartscher (drums, backing vocals) and Thomas Bartscher (bass) to complete the lineup. Their second and latest album is called “The Great Compression”.
The album itself is held quite simple yet artistic, neither lyrics nor band pictures are included. The music on the album is quite simple yet extremely catchy and easy going as well. The songs are easy to sing along and they get stuck in your head even easier. “Red Light” is a very easy going song that makes you move along. The entire album is very energetic and spreads positive vibes. It somehow reminds of Brit Pop. “Other Side” is a very melodic and touchy song whereas “Shattered Revolt” is a slow and thoughtful one. Bitune has made a nice new album they can be proud of. Maybe we will hear a lot more about them soon.
